Founded in 2003 by Lucette de Rugy, ARTLUMIERE is an American company based in New York City. It grew out of another company started in Paris in 1988 called Arts Opera Promotion.
The company brings 20 years of experience to their highly specialized field. This includes designing light displays, organizing and illuminating buildings, and creating building-size images and special effects lighting for major cultural events. The company draws from a talent pool of skilled lighting engineers and technical innovators, as needed. Often, teams as large as 30 people have worked on a single project.
Clients have included municipalities, counties, cities, the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority, the History Channel, Consolidated Edison Company, Conde Nast Publications and Macy’s department store.
While the company takes on projects around the world, it has illuminated more than 40 landmark buildings in the United States alone. Four of the best known are the Grand Central Terminal in New York City, Union Station in Washington, DC, City Hall in Philadelphia, and the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. (see the Portfolio)
The company’s current objectives include:
•Maintaining our leadership position in architectural light mapping
• Developing a laboratory for future innovations
• Create innovative permanent lighting installations for heritage buildings, as well as strobe-based light shows that will give landmarks extra flash and sparkle.

New lighting devices, unique in their kind will be announced soon… stay tuned !
